Dazzle@Dovecot

We are delighted to be returning to Dovecot Studios in Infirmary Street for our Edinburgh Festival exhibition. We have been invited to exhibit in the South Gallery on the ground floor so we are planning an even more exciting exhibition in this large space.This year we have asked our designers to make on or two pieces on a theme, "Follow the Thread". It is a very open brief, so it will be intriguing to see what creations are inspired. We have also , for the first time, invited Japanese printmaker Emiko Aida to exhibit her delicate aquatints. With the wonderful Dovecot Cafe near us on the ground floor, it promises to be a lively Festival venue.

Opening times 10.30 to 6.30 seven days a week. Late night opening for English Bank Holiday, 23,24,25 August until 8pm. Bank Holiday Monday 26, until 6.30. There will be an opening party on Thursday 1 August, for invited guests. Exhibition closes 26 August.

Designers
	EMIKO AIDA Emiko Aida is a printmaker and painter from Jindaiji, Tokyo. She lives in London and is a member of Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and South Bank Printmakers. Her work is exhibited in galleries throughout the UK, USA and Japan and in many collections including the New York Public Library, USA and the Guangdong Museum of Art, China.
	ALAN ARDIFF Dublin. Silver and gold. Major international name. Commissions include for "Riverdance"; Eurovision Song Contest & Dublin Regional Authority. In the collection of Billy Connolly, the Danish Embassy & Arthur Anderson. Exhibitions and outlets include Electrum, London and Rubicon Gallery, Dublin. Exhibited in Jewellery Moves, National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh.
	SUE BARR Graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1980. Workshop Edinburgh. Has lectured at Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee. Works with precious metals and enamel.
	HANNAH BEDFORD Hannah Bedford designs and makes a wide range of women’s jewellery, in silvers and golds. Each piece is handcrafted from her studio at Cockpit Arts Deptford, in the hub of south London’s creative community.
	ROSINA BEECH Rosina finds beauty and colour in unusual functional industrial materials and components. In her Luna collection she combines Sterling Silver with Architectural Aluminium to create unique statement pieces of contemporary jewellery.
	STACEY BENTLEY Stacey is an Edinburgh based jeweller. Her work experiments with vitreous enamel combined with iron, steel, semi-precious stones and precious metals. She explores new possibilities that enamel can bring to contemporary jewellery challenging its initial preconceptions.
	CLARA BREEN Clara Breen works with precious metals and gems, combined with fragments of leaflets, train tickets, maps or colourful paper. Clara's work plays with the notion of a contemporary keepsake. As featured on Radio 4 Woman's Hour.
	JESSICA BRIGGS Sheffield. Silver with 18 and23.5 carat golds. Inthe collection of the Cohn Foundation, USA. Work bought by Will Young, James Nesbitt and Michael Stipe. Outlets include Kath Libbert - Bradford, @ work and Gill Wing - London, The Craft Centre and Design Gallery - Leeds, Bluecoat Display Centre - Liverpool, The Biscuit Factory - Newcastle, Ruthin Craft Centre - Wales, Number Five - Cuper.
	TANIA CLARKE HALL Tania Clarke Hall crafts her jewellery from leather. Her cutting edge designs are versatile and playful yet retain a timeless elegant quality. Working from her central London studio.
	BECKY CROW My work has always had a strongly illustrative leaning. It grows out of drawings and sketches some observational, some imagined.
