Designer News

 We are really excited this year to welcome a record number of new designers to the  Manchester Dazzle.Aazar Azirani, Antonia Chiappe, Tania Clarke Hall, Bea Jareno, Katherine Richmond, Emily Thatcher and Victoria Walker all are exhibiting with Dazzle for the first time and we are sure we will be exhibiting their work  in many future shows. We are also welcoming as first time Manchester exhibitors Erin Daly, Beth Essex, Diana Greenwood and  Yoko Izawa.

Designers

JANE ADAM

For more than 30 years Jane Adam has built an international reputation as a jewellery designer-maker. She has been exhibiting with Dazzle since graduating from The Royal College of Art in 1985. Her pioneering work in anodised aluminium inspired a new jewellery movement in Britain and abroad. Her work in precious metal and stones builds on this experience to create original and sensuous forms in silver and gold. Her work is in more than 20 public collections including The V&A, Goldsmiths Company and The Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh.dia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and USA.

JULIE ALLISON

Coburg House Studios, Edinburgh. Silver, gold, wood, transfers, paper and plastics. Julie graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone college of art in 2003. She describes her work as a quirky, narrative collection of hand drawn memories.

ALAN ARDIFF

Dublin. Silver and gold. Major international name. Commissions include for "Riverdance"; Eurovision Song Contest & Dublin Regional Authority. In the collection of Billy Connolly, the Danish Embassy & Arthur Anderson. Exhibitions and outlets include Electrum, London and Rubicon Gallery, Dublin. Exhibited in Jewellery Moves, National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh.

AAZAR AZIRANI

NICOLA BECCI

My work is really an exploration of decoration using many sources of inspiration, the main ones being the rich symbolism of the Catholic Church, the trappings of royalty, playing cards and chess, calligraphy and the language of symbolism. Food and confectionary are the source for some of my most recent pieces.

JESSICA BRIGGS

Sheffield. Silver with 18 and23.5 carat golds. Inthe collection of the Cohn Foundation, USA. Work bought by Will Young, James Nesbitt and Michael Stipe.

Outlets include Kath Libbert - Bradford, @ work and Gill Wing - London,  The Craft Centre and Design Gallery - Leeds, Bluecoat Display Centre - Liverpool, The Biscuit Factory - Newcastle, Ruthin Craft Centre - Wales, Number Five - Cuper.

NINA BUKVIC

London based. Works in gold, oxidized silver, rough diamonds, pearls. Outlets include Electrum, CAA - London. Design Yard - Dublin Scottish Gallery - Edinburgh, Alternatives - Rome, Barneys - USA.

LILIAN BUSCH

Scotland. Danish-born, works in silver & gold using pearls from the Orient, with emphasis on surface treatment. Won the prestigious Tahitian Pearl Trophy in 2005, in all three categories. Outlets include Robert Feather, York; JAM, Eton & Electrum, London & Williamson Brown, Newcastle upon Tyne.

SELINA CAMPBELL

Selina Campbell is a Jeweller/Silversmith who creates and designs contemporary jewellery to decorative silverware. All pieces are limited and small batch production, making each piece unique and original.

 

KATHERINE CAMPBELL-LEGG

Birmingham. Silver jewellery with rolled pattern & texture & 18-ct gold applied. Outlets include Tomfoolery, London; Nancy Smillie, Glasgow & Eton Applied Arts, Windsor.
