About the Artist
I aspire to create three-dimensional forms that capture the beauty of flora and fauna and explore all aspects of nature. I am greatly inspired by the spontaneous layered structures and geometric patterns displayed in nature. I construct single floral components that are then arranged to produce intriguing contemporary forms, reminiscent of growing plant life.My designs are intended to evoke an appreciation of the pure aesthetic. The observer can decide the final use of each object; either decorative or functional in jewellery or tableware. The materials I mainly use are sterling silver and sheet acrylic. Whether I combine these materials or use each one alone is dependent upon the design. In order to create the best outcome, it is highly important to me to carefully consider the materials I intend to use. The combination of precious metal and acrylic in my designs are an integral part of each object.
