Edinburgh-based designer/maker, Karolina Baines views jewellery as sculptures that move with the wearer, Karolina seeks to create engaging visual and tactile experiences that instil deep personal connections, with a deft use of texture, colour and linework.

KATE BAJIC

Kate Bajic creates handcrafted nature inspired jewellery as limited edition collections, one off pieces or by commission. Inspired by the intricate textures and structures found in lichen, Kate translates aspects of these botanical forms into stylish and elegant, wearable, contemporary jewellery. Kate works mainly in sterling silver and gold, introducing colour into her work through the use of gemstones as well as creating one off art jewellery using hand cut steel, oxidising, patination and acrylic paints.

KATE SMITH

Kate Smith is based in the world famous Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. She graduated in jewellery design from Middlesex University.

By closely observing forms and patterns within nature, Kate's silver and gold jewellery echoes the objects that she has drawn inspiration from.

KATE WOOD

Kate Wood makes feminine, ethereal jewellery using fine beading and chain work techniques.  Constructed entirely by hand from multiple tiny gemstones, pearls and chains, each piece has a beautiful movement and really comes alive when worn.  Her work is admired for its  delicacy, intricately detailed finish and lightness of touch.

KATHERINE CAMPBELL-LEGG

Birmingham. Silver jewellery with rolled pattern & texture & 18-ct gold applied. Outlets include Tomfoolery, London; Nancy Smillie, Glasgow & Eton Applied Arts, Windsor.

KATHERINE RICHMOND

Katherine creates ephemeral adornment inspired by memory and the relationship between the tangible and the transient. Recent exhibitions include LOOT 2012 at The Museum of Arts and Design in New York, GNCCF 2012 winning Best New Business Award, Collect 2011 at The Saatchi Gallery, and The Contemporary Craft Fair 2011 winning Antique of the Future Award. Outlets include Electrum Gallery, London. Current exhibitions include 'Made to Make' at Bilston Craft Gallery, 2012, Made By Hand 2012, and 'Women Working Words' at Facere Gallery, Seattle. 

KATHERINE SMILLIE

Trelleck, Monmouth. Pate de Verre jewellery. Individual glass designs combined with sterling silver or 9-ct gold findings, silver/gold leaf and handmade linen neckpieces. Outlets include Wave Gallery, Kendal; Plumbline Gallery, St. Ives; Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool and Oriel Mostyn, Llandudno.

KATHERINE WARNER

Katharine is fascinated by intricate techniques using very fine wire, tiny beads and thin silver sheet. The jewellery is always of a tactile nature, not only interesting to touch but luxurious to wear.

London. Born Morocco. Works with resin & rubber. In the collection of the National Museums of Scotland & Aberdeen Art Gallery. Recently completed her first book, Cast Resin Jewellery published by A & C Black. Shortlisted for the Arts Foundation Po Shing Woo Jewellery Prize, 2001. Work recently bought by TV resonality Jon Snow. Outlets include Lesley Craze, London, Craft & Design Centre, Leeds & The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh.
