CLAIRE ROBINSON

silver chain earrings

Designer Statement

Claire Robinson works in gold and silver with precious and semi precious stones.
Her primary interest is in surface decoration inspired by ancient civilisations and the obscure markings found on  buried gold worn down over the centuries. All the surface textures found on her work are deliberately fragmented to reflect the passage of time.
Her current collection of earrings are a continuation of her interest in body armour from the jade burial suit found in China to medieval chain mail.

Claire’s silver bolero ‘suit of lights ‘ inspired by medieval chain mail and ancient armour, was exhibited in the Victoria and Albert museum from 2000-2015  in the Silver Gallery.
