About Helena Symes
Helena is a designer-maker based in Hampshire. Her jewellery practice is rooted in her background in Fine Art (Painting) and shaped by her travels and cultural exploration. She began making jewellery while living in India, studying under a jeweller in Rajasthan. She has continued to evolve her work through experimentation and self-directed learning.
Helena’s jewellery reflects a deep appreciation for form, movement, and the unexpected beauty in discarded objects. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted from recycled sterling silver, with an injection of colour through the use of hand dyed aluminium, discarded beer and drinks cans and wine bottle sleeves.
Her jewellery celebrates transformation and sustainability combined with striking modern aesthetics. She is continually developing her ideas to make pieces which have a place in the world in which we live and which in themselves are unique works of art.
