About Fionna Hesketh
Fionna makes unique, one-off contemporary jewellery.
Fionna has developed a very personal style of working, inspired by worn and used surfaces, her work involves firing vitreous enamels onto textured copper. Other materials used include oxidised sterling silver, red linen thread and stainless steel. She aims to inject individuality into each piece that she makes, enjoying and celebrating the process and the materials involved.
Fionna finished her original training in fine jewellery at Central School of Art & Design, London, in 1984.
Fionna’s current work is the result of a Bursary awarded to her in 2008 when, she downed tools, and started ‘drawing’. She developed a way of working that continues to evolve, each new piece referencing some detail that has been observed and collected, whether from fresh input, or from details revealed during the process of making previous pieces.
