About Clara Breen
Born and raised in Paris, Clara Breen established her studio in the UK in 2005 after graduating from University of Brighton. She has exhibited her work globally including shows at Ateliers de Paris, Aaron Faber Gallery, New York and in the UK at Dazzle exhibitions, Biscuit Factory Newcastle, and at the Goldsmiths' Fair.
In 2026 Clara Breen's Shore brooch received the Bronze award in the Precious Jewellery category for the Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council awards; The Shore brooch/lapel pin is an exploration of natural form and texture and a development of Clara's 20-year interest in sculpted silver hollow forms and spontaneous design development through pleating, folding and hand manipulation.
Clara's interest extends to the empty spaces defined by the metal - the in-between spaces, the unseen becoming seen; the brooch becomes a frame for the cloth it is pinned to, and its wearer. With this one-of-a-kind brooch, a bold sense of presence, joyful growth and vitality emerge. Clara's practice extends to participatory projects; she has led creative craft-based workshops in secondary schools and at the V&A, Crafts Council and the British Museum.
