Artist's Statement
Aileen is influenced by the geometric, structural and repetitive nature of Glasgow with contrasting elements drawn from the warmth and light radiating from the buildings. The base of her structural forms are created using predominately steel, silver and oxidised silver with each component individually soldered together and hand manipulated to produce the unique forms. Subtle textures are created using a rolling mill and the etching process, incorporating enamel paint and coloured thread.
