Artist's Statement

My inspiration is taken from my home environment. Living on a farm in South-West Scotland I am surrounded by the natural beauty of my country that has influenced me thoughout my life. Organic shapes, nature and man-made forms found around the farm help inform my studio practice.

Using materials found around the farm, such as animal horn and wool, allow me to create a greater connection between my home and the jewellery I make. I like to combine these usually traditionally used materials with precious metals to give them a fresh approach. The contrast in colour and texture in these materials help give my work a sense of the environment where they were sourced.
