Artist's Statement
Jan works from her studio at Platform Arts Middlesbrough.
Jewellery collections are hand made in silver, carved ebony, gold leaf, textile cord and japanese paper.
Inspiration is drawn from line, linear repetition, folds and edges, extremes of scale and tranquil places.
Her jewellery is minimal. architectural, tactile, sculptural, fashionable and fun.
Worn by people who are individual, forward thinking, creative, fashionable and appreciate originality.
Jan is a founder member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery and has published a number of articles and reviews on UK and international jewellery exhibitions.
A brooch in silver, gold and lapis was commissioned by Northumbria University for presentation to the Duchess of Kent
